Tulsa Motocross looking for those responsible for stolen equipment

TULSA, Okla. — The owners of Tulsa Motocross are offering a $10,000 reward to find their tractor and other crucial equipment they said was stolen last week.

Until they get their tractor back or somehow get another one, races at Tulsa Motocross just can’t happen.

The owners were out of town when thousands of dollars worth of equipment essential to their business, was taken.

Ring cameras captured a couple of the day before when an employee got there, the pair was gone. Then cameras caught them walking up again the very next night.

By the time the owners saw the notification, it was too late.

“We noticed that tractor was gone,” said Jonathan De Bruyn. “All the power meters were pulled out. they stole the computer system for the cameras.”

De Bruyn said thieves used Tulsa Motocross’s own equipment to steal it.

“He moved the whole water truck with a skid steer, drove the tractor out, and then took it with him,” he said.

Now, nearly $50,000 worth of crucial equipment is gone.

“Each machine has its own role here, and the tractor plays a very crucial part,” De Bruyn said. “Without the tiller, without the rippers, we end up with this hard, packed dirt that you can’t quite ride on. It’s just not safe for anyone so we have to have our machines in order to properly provide the right material for the dirt bikes.”

Their next event is scheduled for Jan. 20. Until they get another tractor, race operations are at a halt.

“We’re dead in the water for now,” he said. “We’re not going to be able to open until we get our tractor or get a new one. But it’s not quite feasible.”

“I hope we’re the last ones they do this to,” he added. “I really do.”
