Tulsa Police report sixth homicide of the year, man’s vehicle stolen from crime scene

The Tulsa Police Department (TPD) has reported Tulsa’s sixth homicide of the year.

On January 21 around 7 P.M., TPD reported that officers were called to check on the wellbeing of 65-year-old Cecil Busby near Admiral Pl. and Memorial Dr.

TPD reported that when officers arrived, Busby was found dead inside his residence.

Through an investigation, Busby’s death has been determined to be a homicide.

TPD also said that Busby’s red/maroon Nissan Juke is also missing and is believed to have been stolen. The Nissan has a license plate of Oklahoma tag ODU-291.

Anyone who sees the Nissan is asked to call 911, and anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.

Those who call are asked to reference case 2024-003205.

Informants can remain anonymous when calling, and rewards are possible.
