Glad to see that how bad we suck is getting national attention,” Samuel Keil wrote on YouTube.In the skit, Kenan Thompson, Alex Moffat, Chris Redd and Bowen Yang discuss a Lakers vs. Kings game where the Kings are dealing with a thin line-up due to COVID-19.”Before the game the entire team tested positive, along with most of their coaching staff and trainers,” Alex Moffat playing Ernie Johnson said. “They were forced to find replacements pretty quick, but they did and at the half it’s Nets lead the Kings 268-1. Charles, why can’t Sacramento get anything going tonight?” The team was supported by fans and arena support staff filling in for the NBA players, Johnson said in the skit.The sole point for the Kings was scored by Alicia Miller, played by SNL host and “West Side Story” star Ariana DeBose. “This is like the craziest girls’ night ever,” she saidAlthough the reason for putting the Kings on the board – she also was called for traveling 39 times before being ejected from the game for taking a selfie with Blake Griffin during the game. “I had to, I didn’t know if I would see him again, you know, you got to shoot your shot,” she responded. “Go Sacs!”An equipment manager for the Kings, Dougie McCormick, was also one of the fill-in players.The announcers in the skit compared him to James Harden.”McCormick is just getting outplayed out there and the two asthma attacks didn’t help,” said Thompson.The Sacramento Kings responded to the skit on Twitter.But the source of the Kings’ issues according to the announcers was the temporary coach drafted for his work at the “Little Dunkers Day Camp.””That’s correct,” he replied. “I coach my son’s team. He was actually drafted too.
