Yogi Bear statue recovered after it was stolen from Jellystone Park Camp-Resort

The Yogi Bear statue stolen from Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Pelahatchie has been recovered.

Pelahatchie Police Chief Robert MaHaffey said the statue was found at 3 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 43 near Goodman Road outside of Pelahatchie.

MaHaffey said Yogi was missing some parts. No arrests have been made.

The statue was stolen late Friday night from the entrance of the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, according to Pelahatchie police.

Police said surveillance video shows a pickup truck entering the park, making a U-turn at the entrance and stopping near the statue. The suspect, or suspects, then detached the statue from its base and stole it within about three minutes, according to police.
