The family of two young children missing for nearly a month is still searching for them and is pushing police to provide more updates on the investigation.Sacramento police said they believe 4-year-old Athena Lee and 2-year-old Mateo Lee were taken by their father, Camron Lee. The car he was driving was captured on surveillance video entering Mexico. Bring the kids back. Bring the kids back,” Phillip Bravo, Angelica’s father, said.The family also said that they believe the Sacramento Police Department is not being transparent about the investigation.“Sac PD fumbled. They fumbled really bad. That’s heartbreaking. It’s very concerning,” Phillip said. “We are not okay with what they are doing, you know what I mean. The work they are doing, I feel, is not adequate enough.”Angelica’s aunt Marisa Beltran added, “The police only told us that we’re getting closer and closer, but that’s not telling us enough. We just really are terrified to even knowing if these kids are okay. And we’re stressing out every day by the minute.”A spokesperson with the Sacramento Police Department told KCRA 3 that detectives just had a meeting Tuesday afternoon about this case, adding that they are working around the clock alongside their federal, state and local partners. They also said that they could not disclose a lot of the details of the investigation because they did not want to jeopardize the search for the two children.But loved ones said they feel left in the dark, so they are looking to take matters into their own hands to bring Athena and Mateo back home.“We’re ready to go out there ourselves and put our lives in jeopardy to go find them ourselves, because we feel like they’re not doing enough,” Marisa said.Gilbert Bravo, Angelica’s younger brother, added, “Are we going to have to do this on our own? Because we’re going to basically risk our lives to go find them.”Family and friends are still working on the details of the $10,000 reward for the safe return of the two children.The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office told KCRA 3 the cause of Angelica’s death is still pending.
