FEMA disaster dog missing in Louisville, $2,500 reward offered

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A local rescue dog is missing from Jeffersontown.

Gabe is a local FEMA disaster dog. His owner Jackie McCarty said someone opened the gate in her fenced in yard Wednesday and Gabe got out.

Gabe is a certified search and rescue dog and a member of Indiana’s Task Force One. He was last seen in Jeffersontown.

“We’re here at Tully Elementary because that was the last spot we had a definite sighting of him and that was on Wednesday,” McCarty said. “I haven’t had any leads really yesterday, so we’re worried he’s out of the area and I’m trying to get a broader audience to look for him.”

The male Belgian Malinois is 7 years old, tan with a black face.
