Missing Hall County girl found safe after nearly 2 months, deputies say

There has been a desperate search for Maria Gomez-Perez since she went missing on May 29.

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Nearly two months after a 12-year-old girl went missing in Hall County, she has finally been found safe.

Maria Gomez-Perez was last seen on May 29 in the driveway of her home on Westside Drive and was reported missing a day later on May 30. In the months since, numerous law enforcement agencies, her family and community members have worked tirelessly to help find Maria and bring her home.

On Thursday, deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and investigators with the Criminal Investigations Bureau safely located Maria in another state. Authorities did not say which state she was found in.

“Maria is safe and OK,” the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said on social media. “The tireless work of our CIB, law enforcement partners and the community has resulted in the best possible outcome,” Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch said. “Our prayers for Maria’s safe return have been answered.”

There was a $50,000 reward being offered for anyone that could help find Maria. It is unclear how Maria was located safely at this time.
