Over 100 volunteers joined a search party in February, searching near Riverside Park and downtown where Faal was last seen.

A GoFundMe page set up originally to help support a reward for tips had garnered $23,490 as of Friday afternoon. The page was in-part set up by state Rep. Samba Baldeh, D-Madison, a friend of Faal’s family.

Faal was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and was studying psychology at UW-L, set to graduate this May, according to reports.

The discovery comes just a few weeks after police recovered the body of Dayton K. Anderson-Teece, 27, from the Black River near the Clinton Street boat ramp in La Crosse.
