DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — It’s approaching two weeks since a corrections K-9 went missing in Davis County, and officials announced an increase in the reward money Friday thanks to a local resident’s donation.
Kash, a 1-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, went missing at 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, after he ran off during a bathroom break, authorities said. Officers with the Farmington Police Department actively searched the area on the ground and with drones for a week before calling off the physical search efforts.
On Wednesday, authorities announced a $1,000 reward to anyone who returns the police dog to the department. They upped that reward Friday after a “generous Davis County resident” donated another grand to the efforts.
“Our office has received several tips and possible sightings regarding the whereabouts of K9 Kash. Unfortunately, Kash is still missing,” the office’s latest update read.

Officers previously said they believed Kash may have been picked up by someone who did not know he was a K-9.
Davis County authorities said Kash was donated to the department in September and was in a training program with his new handler. He was not microchipped and police said there was nothing on him that would identify him as a police dog.
“If you have Kash or know his whereabouts, please contact us. You can message us on Facebook or call Davis Dispatch at 801-451-4150. You can also take Kash to Animal Care of Davis County,” the update read.
