Search widens for missing Truckee teen, Placer Sheriff’s Office investigates as abduction

The search continues for missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni who was last seen near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee at a party early Saturday, August 6, 2022. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office considers her disappearance an abduction case. A $50,000 reward is being offered by the Rodni family. Also, a website, www.findkiely.com has been established by family and friends to aid in the search.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has set up a tip line at 530-581-6320, Option 7.

Placer County Sheriff’s Office says its detectives are currently following up on leads. The sheriff’s office is also using a Falcon 30 helicopter is aiding in the search for Kiely, according to a PCSO Facebook update on Monday afternoon.

Air operations crew were being flown over the Interstate 80 corridor between Donner Summit and the Nevada state line, and will continue searching around the Prosser Lake area, according to the sheriff’s office.

Family and friends are coordinating a community meeting and volunteer search party coordination at the Truckee Recreation Center, at 10 a.m. Tuesday and there is a scheduled meeting with law enforcement at 2 p.m., according to the findkiely.com website.

Kiely was at a party of more than 100 juveniles and young adults. She was last seen at the party on August 6, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m. Kiely’s vehicle is also missing from the party — a silver 2013 Honda CRV with California license plate: “8YUR127”. Kiely’s phone has been out of service since the party.

Kiely is a Caucasian female, 5’7”, 115 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing green Dickies pants, a black tank top, numerous piercings and jewelry, including a nose ring.
