Unsolved Mystery: Redding father disappears after trip to the airport

Anthony ‘Tony’ Richards’ vehicle was found abandoned in Redding in 2020.

REDDING, Calif. – Every Monday, Action News Now reopens the file on a local unsolved missing person case in hopes of generating new clues to solve the case.

Anthony “Tony” Richards was last seen in Redding on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

Richards went missing after dropping his fiancée and child off at Sacramento Airport, They were moving to New York. Richards planned to join them in a few days.

He drove back to Redding, arriving at 1 a.m. Richards was supposed to go to Crescent City to go fishing but he never arrived. He also never picked up his last paycheck from his employer, the Woodside Grill.

Several days after his disappearance, Richard’s aunt found his vehicle in a parking lot in the boat ramp area at Lake Redding Park. Richards is 38 years old, 5’10”, 120 pounds. He’s a white man with black hair and hazel eyes. He has gauged piercings in his ears, a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, and the word ‘Norcal’ on his neck.
