SCHENEVUS, N.Y. — An Otsego County family, along with the firefighting community, is grappling with a tragedy this evening.
Schenevus-Maryland volunteer firefighter Logan Haner, 20, was pinned under his car and killed.
It happened just before 6:30 Wednesday morning.
While visiting a relative, his car began to roll down the driveway to St. Rt. 7.
Concerned for the safety of others on the road, Haner ran to stop the car but wound up pinned beneath it.
Firefighters and bystanders worked to free him and attempted to save his life.
