VIDEO: 5-year-old rescued from apartment fire, firefighter recovering

A Fresno firefighter is now recovering after running into a burning apartment building to save a 5-year-old child still trapped inside.

The fire was near First in Shields Avenues in Fresno around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Video shows residents panicking as they realized there was still a small child trapped inside of the apartment complex that was ingulfed in flames.

Shortly after, another video shows a Fresno firefighter running out with the child in his arms.

The Fresno Fire Department says the child was rushed to the hospital where they are in critical, but stable condition.

The firefighter who rescued the child was sent to the hospital for burns he received during the recue.

He was since been released and is now recovering.

Two other adults were also sent to the hospital for burns from the fire.
