In an effort to offer some amount of assistance to volunteer firefighters in Hunt County who work round the clock to serve their communities despite limited resources, country music artist Jarrod Sterrett – with the help of his band The Hired Guns – plans to put on a benefit show for them at the Texan Theater on Saturday.
The show benefiting Hunt County volunteer firefighters is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Texan Theater in Greenville. General admission for the show is $60.
Originally hailing from Jefferson, Texas, Sterrett has had six songs make it onto the Texas Regional Radio Report, with his latest single “Tryin’ to Save the Honky Tonks” currently in its 11th week in the chart’s top 100.
He decided to lend his and Hired Guns’ talents to the cause for volunteer firefighters largely because he himself comes from a long family line of firemen – with his father still working as a firefighter and his grandfather and great-grandfather formerly serving as fire chiefs.
“I especially feel for these volunteer fire departments that are out risking their lives while using antique equipment,” Sterrett said.
